Why this year matters
2015 will not mirror every new question type, but it still trains selection, stamina, and the chapters that keep coming back. Sectional timing and cut-offs matter as much as raw accuracy. Track attempts per section, not just the total.
Count attempts and accuracy by section. A high raw score with a failed sectional cut-off is still a fail in the real exam.
Paper analysis
Snapshot of SBI Clerk 2015
Treat 2015 as a dated snapshot of sbi-clerk difficulty and coverage. Keep the latest brochure for timers and marking, and use this paper for selection pressure and recurring themes.
2015 may feel differently paced than the newest cycle. Borrow stamina and theme lessons; do not copy obsolete section orders or marking quirks.
What this paper stresses
- Mains vs Prelims difficulty mismatch (especially SBI / RBI).
- Sectional cut-off failures despite a decent overall.
- Puzzle / DI sets that should have been abandoned earlier.
- English error-spotting under speed pressure.
What to extract before you move on
- Prelims vs Mains repair queues kept as separate lists.
- Puzzle / DI patterns that beat you when you overstay.
- Sectional attempt targets that still clear cut-offs in mocks.
- English miss taxonomy (grammar vs vocab vs RC).
How 2015 sits next to other years
Use 2015 only after SBI Clerk 2024, SBI Clerk 2023, SBI Clerk 2022 are logged. Archive years are for frequency maps, not for predicting tomorrow’s cut-off.
Analyst note: SBI did not publish the SBI Clerk 2015 paper. The mock below is original practice in the reported pattern; treat coaching “memory-based” papers as unofficial reconstructions.
SBI Clerk 2015 mock paper (single-stage clerical pattern, modelled on candidate reports)
SBI does not publish its clerical question papers; it releases only advertisements and information handouts, and the papers online are coaching memory-based reconstructions. SBI's two-stage Junior Associates exam began only in 2016; the clerical exam SBI ran in 2015 was for its associate banks (January–February 2015), on the single-stage, five-test pattern then in use. This original mini-paper follows that pattern and candidate reports.
What candidates reported about 2015
- Single online objective test of five sections (General Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Marketing Aptitude/Computer Knowledge), 40 marks each, 200 marks in a composite 2 hours 15 minutes (as set out in SBI's 2014 clerical advertisement).
- Questions were bilingual except General English; candidates had to pass each test separately, and the merit list was drawn state-wise, followed by an interview.
- Associate-bank clerical shifts were held on 24–25 January and 15 February 2015, among other dates.
- Candidate-shared General Awareness questions were mostly single-fact recall: banking terms and abbreviations, the RBI's role, financial-inclusion schemes, and 2014 current affairs.
- 1/4 mark was deducted for each wrong answer.
Suggested time: 17 minutes. The real test gave a composite 135 minutes for 200 questions across five sections. This 25-question mock keeps that pace: 17 minutes in all, moving between sections freely. Five options per question; +1 for a correct answer and −0.25 for a wrong one.

Passage
A good bank clerk does far more than count notes. Customers often arrive anxious: a pensioner unsure whether her money has been credited, a student confused by a form, a shopkeeper in a hurry to deposit the day's cash. The clerk who greets them patiently and explains each step clearly can turn a stressful visit into a reassuring one.
Speed matters, but accuracy matters more. A single wrong digit in an account number can send money to a stranger, and correcting the mistake may take weeks. Experienced staff therefore read figures back to customers before completing a transaction, even when the queue is long.
Why do experienced staff read figures back to customers?
- To slow down the queue
- To avoid errors such as sending money to the wrong account
- Because customers cannot read
- To practise their pronunciation
- Because the rules forbid writing numbers
Answer and explanation
Answer: B (To avoid errors such as sending money to the wrong account)
The passage says one wrong digit 'can send money to a stranger', so staff read figures back before completing a transaction.
According to the passage, which matters more at a bank counter?

- Short queues
