GATE PI 2019 gave one full paper. The official key lists 41 MCQ, 24 NAT, so 37% of the paper is typed-answer (NAT) questions, which carry no negative marking.
Of the 55 Production and Industrial Engineering questions, 25 are worth 1 mark and 30 worth 2 marks; 15 of the 2-mark questions are NAT.
Against GATE PI 2018, MCQs moved by +7 and NATs by -7.

What this paper stresses
- PI mixes mechanical-style numericals with management-style ones (inventory, queueing, forecasting), so build separate formula sheets for the two kinds.
- NAT answers in operations research and inventory depend on rounding rules; use the range printed in the key.
- General Aptitude is 10 questions and 15 marks, easy to rush.

- Mark it with the official key: MCQ by option, NAT by the range in the key. Apply negative marks on MCQs only.
- Fill the error log the same day: section, subject, and miss type (concept, silly, time or misread).
