Paper analysis
Snapshot of CBSE Class 10 2026
The 2026 Class 10 papers kept the 80-mark, 3-hour format. The Science paper is now split into three sections by discipline, Biology (30 marks), Chemistry (25) and Physics (25), and asks you to answer each section separately in the answer book, so practise it that way. 2026 was also the first year of CBSE’s second Class 10 board exam; its papers are in CBSE’s archive, while this page hosts the main exam.
What this paper stresses
- Competency and case-based items that need structured writing.
- Time leaks on long answers early in the paper.
- Step-marking losses on otherwise correct final answers.
- Subjects practised only as outlines, never as full scripts.
What to extract before you move on
- Chapters where you lose step marks.
- A realistic per-section time box for the next full paper.
- One model answer rewritten in marking-scheme language.
- Question verbs that need diagrams, steps or definitions.
