At a glance
| Exam date | 18 December 2022 |
| UG questions | 150 |
| Marking | +1 for a correct answer, minus 0.25 for a wrong answer, nothing for a blank |
| Duration | 2 hours |
| Marks adjustment | One Quantitative Techniques question (number 144 in the master booklet) was withdrawn, so UG was evaluated out of 149 marks |
The 2023 paper
CLAT 2023 was the last 150-question paper. Question ranges were English 28 to 32, Current Affairs including GK 35 to 39, Legal Reasoning 35 to 39, Logical Reasoning 28 to 32 and Quantitative Techniques 13 to 17, all passage-based. A single master booklet is used, so the numbers in the key match the booklet directly.
Scoring it correctly
The final key notification of 22 December 2022 withdrew question 144 in Quantitative Techniques, taking UG evaluation to 149 marks, and changed a handful of answers. The tabulated answer key in Appendix I of that notification is the one to score against. The provisional key in the objections file is only for comparison.
Use for practice
The 2023 paper is long. Use it for stamina rather than as a benchmark of current difficulty: 150 questions in 2 hours leaves about 48 seconds each, tighter than today’s format.

FAQ
Where can I download the official CLAT 2023 UG question paper?
Both the question booklet and the answer key are hosted above, copied from the Consortium of NLUs site (consortiumofnlus.ac.in). Check the source link next to each file.
How many questions were there in CLAT 2023 UG?
150. One Quantitative Techniques question (number 144 in the master booklet) was withdrawn, so UG was evaluated out of 149 marks.
Is CLAT 2023 still relevant after the pattern changed?
Yes for reading and legal-reasoning passages, but time yourself on 120 questions in 2 hours by attempting only the first 120 or by choosing the sections you would normally do first.
