CE1 had 40 MCQ, 25 NAT, while CE2 had 39 MCQ, 26 NAT. That is 38% and 40% typed-answer questions, which carry no negative marking. There are no multiple-select questions in these papers. Against GATE CE 2016 (set 1), MCQs moved by -6 and NATs by +6. GATE 2017 was organised by IIT Roorkee; the original files were published on gate.iitg.ac.in (GATE 2018 site archive).
