# Editorial Process

> How previousyearquestions.app sources official papers, tags questions and keeps exam pages current, what we refuse to publish, and how to report a correction.

## Mission
previousyearquestions.app exists to give aspirants **free previous year questions (PYQs)** and clear practice plans for Indian competitive exams. For each exam we cover, we publish an overview hub, a previous year papers page, and a syllabus/pattern page. No registration, no courses, no paywall.

The site is founded by **[Anchal Katyal](/author/)** and published by **[KASP Digital LLC](https://kasp.ae)**. Sister sites handle adjacent prep: [interviewquestions.app](https://interviewquestions.app) for company interviews, [placementpapers.app](https://placementpapers.app) for campus OA papers.

## Research inputs (not republication)
We treat external material as **inputs for synthesis**, not pages to copy. Typical inputs include:

1. **Official exam portals**: notifications, information bulletins, syllabus PDFs, released papers, and answer keys
2. **Conducting-body archives**: year-wise papers and response sheets when published
3. **Pattern context**: publicly documented changes to sections, marks, or negative marking across cycles
4. **Seasonal review**: we revisit hubs when a new paper, key, or notification lands (current cycle focus: **2026**)

A raw PDF dump or coaching bank is never the finished page. We reorganise into year-wise practice plans, pattern notes, and FAQs so aspirants get a usable study brief.

## What we add
Editorial work is where originality shows up. On a typical exam update we:

- **Build year-wise practice plans** so you sit papers under a timer instead of just downloading them
- **Write pattern notes** that map sections, marks, and question types against official sources
- **Flag memory-based vs official** so readers know when a set is interim
- **Suggest error-log habits**: topic, miss type, and repair before the next full paper
- **Call out variance**: paper codes, shifts, and syllabus revisions that change how you use older years

That synthesis is the product. Aggregation alone would leave aspirants with noise; our job is a usable, exam-specific brief.

## What we refuse
We will not:

- **Invent "verified" claims** without a grounding official source or clear framing as reported/memory-based
- **Sell courses, coaching, or premium gates** on this site
- **Copy pages wholesale** from coaching sites, forums, or PDF banks
- **Guarantee ranks, cut-offs, or selection**
- **Present one year's paper as the only possible pattern** when the notification has changed

If a detail cannot be supported as an official public source or clearly labelled interim material, it does not belong on the page as fact.

## How often we update
Exam calendars are seasonal. We prioritize refreshes when:

- A new **paper or answer key** is released
- The conducting body publishes a **syllabus or pattern** change
- Multiple sources conflict with an older practice note

Pages show **Published on / Updated on** dates next to the author byline so you can judge freshness. The **2026** cycle is the current review target across exam hubs.

## Corrections and paper tips
You improve the site when you send corrections or point to newly published official materials.

**Email:** [anchal@kasp.ae](mailto:anchal@kasp.ae)
**Form / guidance:** [Contact](/contact/)

Helpful messages include:

- Exam name and paper/year (or paper code if relevant)
- What is wrong or outdated (pattern note, year list, official URL)
- A public official source if you have one

Do not send confidential materials or anything you are not allowed to share. We use tips as editorial inputs: checked against official portals, then folded into our structure.
